here is a little something i wanted to share. it's an on-going art project we've tended toward on
art day. it's really a great project in part because it's different every time you do it. Nature Cards. easy and really fun.
here's what you do:
grab yourselves a basket or bucket or something like that and head on outside! start picking flowers, grasses, leaves that you see in your yard or neighborhood. gather pebbles, bark, moss, sand, shells, anything is you find will become the components of your art.

next spread everything out on a cookie sheet or towel or something so that you can really see what you've got.
cut pieces of card stock in the sizes you prefer to work with, then cover with double-sided tape. once you have covered a few pieces start sticking your bits of nature on. it's really fun for little hands. and for mommy. . . it's sorta zen.

when done: display! we use our "art string" to display our artwork. idea given to us by the fabulous
amanda blake soule from her book
The Creative Family.
here's some of ours from this summer. try them with your little ones and then let me know how it goes!

these are really great, Kate...
we would have to do a very mid-winter crafty card around here or all we would have would be rocks and a few dead sticks! ha ha
but for winter, you're on! i love the cards!
I love them. Can't wait to get me some double sided tape. And I love the A. Soule book, too. We don't have our string up yet though...
