car talk :: the magic of fall
so, i'm not sure why, but lately when we are in the car me and bb (the 4Y.O.) and i have the best conversations. he's really become such good company!
on the way to school is the best. it's early. it's quiet and everything is new again.
a couple of days ago he said, "mommy, how do the leaves change color?"
"i'm not sure. what do you think about it?"
***pause***
"well, i think that there must be an animal who lives inside the tree....not a big animal, animal like a dinosaur, but a small nice one like a sheep or a racoon and they come out and take all the leaves and bring them into the tree and paint them, then put them back out!"
of course.
i love his imagination.

This is probably the best explanation I've ever heard. It reminds me that before answering, I should always ask for Sam's theory first.
that's a terrific idea, i love it!
